Kerala Tour Packages from Kolkata

Govt. of India enlistedLocal Kerala teamFull itinerary before payment

Our standard Kerala packages run from 2 nights and 3 days up to 9 nights and 10 days, priced from Rs.3,108 to Rs.18,999 per person on twin sharing, land only, as of August 2026.

Kerala tour packages from Kolkata come with one thing to settle before anything else, and it is not the itinerary. It is the flight. A nonstop from Kolkata to Kochi runs close to three hours when you can get one, but a lot of Kolkata bookings route through Bengaluru, Chennai or Hyderabad and turn into most of a day in the air. Trivandrum and Kozhikode are almost always connected. So the first job on this page is to help you pick a trip that pays back that longer journey.

We are trip2keralam, and our team is based in Kerala rather than at a desk in another state. We run these routes, book the same hotels and houseboats, and stay reachable by phone while you travel. Every price here is land only, per person on twin sharing, taken straight from the rate sheet we quote from. Flights from Kolkata sit on top, and we show you exactly where.

Below are four durations that make sense once you are flying this far, from a five-night circuit to a full ten-day sweep of the state. The one we recommend is flagged, then written out day by day. You also get the full inclusions, the exclusions in plain words, and where GST and airfare fall.

Here is the honest part. From Kolkata a two or three-night Kerala trip is poor value, because the flying eats more of it than the holiday. The shortest we put on this page is five nights, and the one we push is seven, since that is the length where a long journey from the east coast starts to feel worth it.

Why Visit Kerala from Kolkata?

For a Kolkata traveller, Kerala is a full change of register. You leave a flat delta city and land in a green coastal state of hills, backwaters and beaches, where the food turns to coconut, fish and rice. The reasons it works as a trip, past the scenery:

  • A different India in one state: tea estates at 1,600 metres, a tiger reserve, an overnight houseboat and the Arabian Sea, all within a few hours of each other.
  • Kochi is the sensible way in: nonstop Kolkata to Kochi services run at roughly three hours when available, on Air India, IndiGo, Air India Express and Akasa Air (as of September 2026), and the classic route starts there.
  • Fly, do not take the train: the only direct train, the Howrah to Ernakulam Antyodaya Express, runs around 37 to 43 hours and only on certain days, and Trivandrum by rail is longer still. Unlike a Chennai traveller, you do not have a practical overnight train, so flying is the real choice.
  • Longer trips earn their keep here: once you have paid for a connection each way, five to eight nights is what turns the airfare into a proper holiday rather than a long weekend swallowed by airports.

Most Popular Kerala Package from Kolkata with Trip Cost

Here is why we point most Kolkata travellers at eight days rather than the quick four or five that many listings push. You have flown across the country, often with a change of plane, and the trip that earns that journey is the one that runs the whole state in a single go, hills to the southern tip, with nothing left feeling rushed.

The one that does it is our standard 7 nights and 8 days Kerala Grand Tour, Kochi to Kanyakumari, at Rs. 9,499, per person on twin sharing, land only. It takes in a Fort Kochi heritage evening, two nights in the Munnar tea hills at around 1,600 metres, a night in Thekkady for the spice plantations and the Periyar Lake cruise, a full houseboat night on the Alleppey backwaters, then two nights at Kovalam with a day trip to Kanyakumari, the southern tip of the mainland where three seas meet.

The eight-day length is deliberate, not padding. It is the shortest trip that fits Kanyakumari without cutting Munnar or the houseboat short, and the two Kovalam nights are what keep the Tamil Nadu day trip a day trip rather than a fourteen-hour haul in the car.

The four durations we suggest from Kolkata

Here is what each step up actually adds, so you can match the length to your leave. All prices are per person on twin sharing, land only, from our current rate sheet as of August 2026.

The 5 nights and 6 days Golden Circuit is the tightest version that still justifies the flight from Kolkata, covering Munnar, Thekkady and a houseboat in a clean loop back to Kochi, so your return ticket is simple. The 6 nights and 7 days Best of Kerala keeps that core and adds one night at Kovalam, ending on the coast instead of a hill drive. The recommended 7 nights and 8 days Grand Tour holds two Kovalam nights and runs the Kanyakumari day, which is the piece that makes the long trip east to west feel complete. The 8 nights and 9 days End to End slows the whole thing down, opening with the Athirappilly waterfall near Kochi and adding a quiet Kumarakom lake night before the coast.

Day by day through the recommended 7 nights and 8 days route

One block per day, with the overnight stay and a realistic sense of time in the car, since a long haul from Kolkata makes every driving hour count.

Day 1  Fort Kochi, five centuries of trade in one walk

We meet you at Kochi airport and settle you into Fort Kochi. The afternoon is a walk through the old port, the Chinese fishing nets on the shore, St Francis Church and the Mattancherry Palace, with an optional Kathakali performance in the evening. Catch the nets at dusk, when crews of four still haul them up by hand. Overnight in Kochi.

Day 2  Climbing to Munnar through waterfall country

A drive up to Munnar, roughly four hours, with halts at the Cheeyappara and Valara falls where the road runs right beside the water. The afternoon is free around the Pothamedu viewpoint as the tea slopes open out. Overnight in Munnar.

Day 3  Munnar: dams, viewpoints and tea estates

A full local day around Munnar, taking in Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Top Station, the Tea Museum and Photo Point. Do Top Station early, before the mist rolls in and takes the valley with it. Overnight in Munnar.

Day 4  Down to Thekkady and an evening of Kalari

A drive through the cardamom hills to Thekkady, about three and a half to four hours, for a guided spice plantation walk at Kumily, with an optional Kathakali and Kalaripayattu show in the evening. Crack a green cardamom pod open on the walk and the smell is nothing like the jar at home. Overnight in Thekkady.

Day 5  Periyar cruise, then boarding the houseboat at Alleppey

An early boat cruise on Periyar Lake, when the animals are still coming down to drink, then the drive to Alleppey to board your houseboat around midday. Lunch comes out as the boat casts off, the afternoon runs along the Kuttanad canals, and the crew cooks dinner as you moor for sunset. Kuttanad is farmed below sea level behind earth bunds, and it looks like it from the water. Every meal on the boat is included. Overnight on the houseboat.

Day 6  Breakfast on the water, then the coast road to Kovalam

Breakfast is served on the boat before you disembark in the morning. From there it is the drive south down the coast to Kovalam, with the evening free for sunset at Lighthouse Beach. Overnight in Kovalam.

Day 7  Day trip to Kanyakumari, where three seas meet

An early start for Kanyakumari, over the Tamil Nadu border, for the Vivekananda Rock Memorial offshore, the 133 foot Thiruvalluvar Statue beside it, and the point where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean meet. We leave early on purpose, because the ferry queue to the rock memorial gets long on weekends and holidays and a late start can cost you the morning. Back to Kovalam for the night. Overnight in Kovalam.

Day 8  Trivandrum heritage morning, then home

A short city round in Trivandrum, the Padmanabhaswamy Temple from outside, the Napier Museum and the Kuthiramalika Palace with its 122 carved wooden horses along the eaves, before we drop you at Trivandrum airport. Since nonstops from Trivandrum to Kolkata are thin, most travellers fly home on a one-stop from here. If you would rather take a nonstop, tell us and we will plan a drive back to Kochi instead.

Want this route stretched to add Kumarakom, or trimmed to six nights with the coast dropped? Send us your rough dates and how you like to travel, and we will re-plan the days and re-quote, with no obligation.

Types of Kerala Packages from Kolkata

The four routes above are our general circuits. Travelling with children, as a couple, on a budget or looking for more comfort changes the stay, the pacing and the price. Here is how each version shifts, with a real starting rate from our sheet. Each rate is quoted per person on twin sharing, land only.

Kerala Family Tour Packages

For a family that wants the whole state without a punishing drive, the 7 nights and 8 days Kerala Complete Family Circuit loops from Kochi through Athirappilly falls, Munnar, Thekkady, an Alleppey houseboat and a quiet beach day at Marari. Ending on a free beach day rather than another transfer is deliberate, because it gives children and grandparents a day to do nothing. If a week is enough, the 6 nights and 7 days Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey Family Holiday covers the same core with no drive longer than four hours.

Kerala Honeymoon Packages

The 6 nights and 7 days Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey and Kovalam Romance takes couples from the cold estate evenings of Munnar through the cardamom hills to a private Alleppey houseboat and a night at Kovalam with the boat chartered for the two of you rather than shared. For a longer, slower honeymoon, the 8 nights and 9 days Nine Days of Kerala Romance adds Marari and Varkala to that run. Book the tea hills for December or January and the Munnar nights turn properly cold, which most couples enjoy.

Kerala Budget Packages

Because we steer Kolkata trips longer, the honest entry point here is the 5 nights and 6 days Munnar, Vagamon and Thekkady Highland Trail which offers a quieter highland route through tea estates, pine meadows and the cardamom hills. Shorter two and three-night routes from Kolkata the flight makes them poor value, so we leave them off this page. All budget quotes land only on standard hotels, and the way to hold the total down is to fly early and travel outside the 20 December to 5 January peak.

Kerala Adventure Tour Package

For hills and wildlife, the 7 nights and 8 days Hills and Wildlife route links Munnar, Thekkady and the Wayanad plateau with its caves and coffee country. More of the same across a wider sweep, the 8 nights and 9 days Kerala Wildlife and Hill Stations Tour adds Athirappilly falls and a houseboat night. Trails, cave climbs and lake activity run best in the drier months, roughly October to March, since heavy rain shuts a lot of them.

Kerala Luxury Tour Package

The luxury versions hold similar routes but swap in premium-category resorts and a private houseboat charter. The 8 nights and 9 days Hills, Houseboat, Island and Beach pairs Munnar and Thekkady with a private houseboat and two nights on a Poovar island resort reached only by boat. Beyond that, upgrades to deluxe, 4-star and premium resorts are priced per booking, so name the category you have in mind and we will cost the exact stays instead of a loose band.

Kerala Group Tour Packages

The same circuits run for larger groups, joint families, friends travelling together or small office trips, with the vehicle sized to the party and a per-head rate that usually eases as the group grows. Group rates and the vehicle are worked out against your exact numbers and travel dates.

What's Included in Kerala Tour Packages from Kolkata?

Here is what the featured circuits include. We set it out in full because the gap between a headline price and what you actually pay on the ground usually hides right here, and most Kolkata listings you will have seen quote On Request rather than say.

Included

  • Your hotel or resort rooms on twin sharing, on the bed and breakfast plan, which is the room and a daily breakfast at each stay.
  • A private air-conditioned car kept for your group alone, covering every transfer and all the sightseeing the plan names.
  • A local driver who doubles as your guide and has driven these ghat roads for years.
  • Fuel, tolls, parking, driver allowance and every inter-state permit, the Tamil Nadu permit for Kanyakumari included, so the border adds nothing to your bill.
  • Entry tickets and ride charges for each site in the day-by-day plan, the Periyar Lake cruise and the Kumily spice walk among them. Plenty of listings drop these and you end up paying at every counter.
  • Pickup and drop at the airport or railway station inside Kerala.
  • The Alleppey houseboat is on full board, which is a welcome drink, lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner and next-morning breakfast, the way Alleppey and Kumarakom boats are always sold.
  • Round-the-clock help on the ground from the trip2keralam team in Kerala, for as long as you are travelling.

Not Included

Stated plainly, so nothing lands on the bill as a surprise:

  • Air and rail fare between Kolkata and Kerala. We can fold flights into your quote, or sort the connecting leg home out of Trivandrum, if you ask.
  • Lunch and dinner away from the houseboat, where those meals are already covered.
  • Anything not written into the day-by-day plan, wildlife safaris, bamboo rafting and other add-on activities among them.
  • Ayurveda and spa sessions unless a package lists them, plus camera fees, tips and personal spends.
  • GST as it applies to tour packages.
  • Anything the inclusions above do not name.

Kerala Trip Cost from Kolkata

The starting price for each length, per person on twin sharing and land only. These come straight from our current rate sheet as of August 2026, and we confirm them against your exact dates before booking. Flights from Kolkata and GST sit on top.

Duration Standard Price(PP) Typical range
5 Nights / 6 Days Rs.6,499 Rs.6,499 to Rs.9,999
6 Nights / 7 Days Rs.8,499 Rs.8,499 to Rs.11,999
7 Nights / 8 Days Rs.9,499 Rs.9,499 to Rs.12,999
8 Nights / 9 Days Rs.10,999 Rs.10,999 to Rs.16,999

The recommended standard 7 nights and 8 days Kerala Grand Tour to Kanyakumari starts at Rs.9,499 per person, which sits inside the band above. Two costs sit on top of these figures. Flights from Kolkata are separate, since every price here is land only, and GST applies at the current slab. To confirm a booking we take 50 percent of the package amount, with the balance due before departure or on arrival, by bank transfer. Rates climb on peak dates, roughly 20 December to 5 January, Onam, Christmas, New Year and long weekends, and we point that out before anything is paid. Moving up the room category, or the meal plan from bed and breakfast to half or full board, is re-quoted at the time of booking.

Best Time to Visit Kerala

reat these as planning notes. We confirm the current picture when you book, and dates are indicative as of September 2026.

  • October to March: the main window and the one we plan most Kolkata trips into, with comfortable weather across the hills, backwaters and coast. It also lines up with the Durga Puja and winter holidays, when we see the heaviest booking from Kolkata, so lock dates early.
  • November to February: the clearest, coolest stretch, best for the Munnar viewpoints and for a clean Kanyakumari sunrise and sunset.
  • December to January: the tea hills turn cold and the skies clear, which most travellers welcome, but 20 December to 5 January is also the dearest window, so put your dates down two to three months out.
  • April and May: hot and humid on the coast, which is a fair reason to keep to the hills, though it is also school-holiday demand, so family resorts fill early.
  • June to September: the monsoon months, greener and cheaper and the classic time for Ayurveda, though a hard day of rain can shuffle the plan and a few hill trails shut, so we leave slack in these trips.

Top Attractions Covered in Kolkata to Kerala Holiday Packages

What the featured routes actually put in front of you:
  • Fort Kochi: the hand-worked Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, the Mattancherry Palace and a Kathakali evening in the old port.
  • Munnar: working tea estates near 1,600 metres, plus Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Top Station and the Tea Museum.
  • Thekkady and Periyar: the Kumily spice plantation walk, an early Periyar Lake cruise inside the tiger reserve, and a Kalaripayattu show.
  • Alleppey backwaters: a night afloat through the Kuttanad canals and out onto Vembanad Lake, every meal cooked on the boat.
  • Kovalam: the Arabian Sea and Lighthouse Beach, the most established beach stretch in the south, held two nights on the recommended route.
  • Kanyakumari (7N/8D route): the southernmost tip of the mainland, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the three-seas confluence, reached as a day trip from Kovalam.
  • Athirappilly and Kumarakom (8N/9D route): Kerala's largest waterfall near Kochi, and a quiet birding night on Vembanad Lake.

Why Book Your Kerala tour package from Kolkata with trip2keralam?

Planning tools that may help: our Kerala tour packages by number of days, the 7 nights and 8 days Kochi to Kanyakumari itinerary, how to reach Kerala from Kolkata, and our Kovalam travel guide.

We are in Kerala, not reselling from an eastern desk

Our own team drives these roads, so we know which stretch is long and which stay earns its rate, and we tell you before you pay.

The quote is close to the real spend

Entry tickets, the houseboat full board and even the Tamil Nadu permit are already inside the price, so you are not paying again at every gate, jetty and border.

We plan around a Kolkata connection

We meet you at Kochi, time the first and last day around your flight, and are upfront that a Trivandrum-out leg from here usually means one stop, with a drive back to Kochi as the alternative.

We are honest about length

From this far a two-night trip wastes the airfare, so we point you to the routes that make the journey worth it rather than selling you the cheapest line.

A real person you can reach

You get a named coordinator on WhatsApp through the trip, plus 24x7 on-ground help in Kerala if a plan has to shift mid-way.

Stays you choose

We hold vetted hotels in each town in the category you settle on, with a lift to deluxe, 4-star or premium resorts on request.

People Also Asked About Kerala Trip Packages from Kolkata

Are there nonstop flights from Kolkata to Kerala, or will I have a connection?
Kochi is your best bet for a nonstop, at around three hours when one is running, on Air India, IndiGo, Air India Express or Akasa Air. Nonstops are limited, though, and many Kolkata itineraries route through Bengaluru, Chennai or Hyderabad at about four hours forty-five or more. Trivandrum and Kozhikode are almost always connected. We plan the route around whatever flight you can get.
Should I fly into Kochi or Trivandrum from Kolkata?

Fly into Kochi. The classic routes start there, and it is where a nonstop from Kolkata is most likely. The recommended eight-day trip ends with a Trivandrum drop, so most travellers fly home on a one-stop out of Trivandrum. If you would rather catch a nonstop back, tell us and we will plan a drive to Kochi for the return instead.

Is the train from Kolkata to Kerala worth it?
For most holidays, no. The only direct train, the Howrah to Ernakulam Antyodaya Express, runs about 37 to 43 hours and only on certain days, and Trivandrum by rail is longer again. That is nearly two days each way. Unlike a Chennai traveller with an overnight train, from Kolkata flying is the sensible choice, and we take over from the Kochi airport.
How many days do I need for a Kerala trip from Kolkata?

Seven nights and eight days is the sweet spot from here. Because the journey is long and often has a connection, a short trip loses most of itself to travel. Five nights is the shortest we would suggest, enough for Munnar, Thekkady and a houseboat. Eight covers the whole state down to Kanyakumari without any day feeling rushed.

Are flights from Kolkata included in the package price?

No. All our prices are land only, so Kolkata to Kerala airfare is separate. We are happy to add flights to your quote so you have one figure, or you book them yourself and we handle everything from the Kochi airport onward. We can also arrange the connecting leg home out of Trivandrum.

Is the Kanyakumari day trip worth it, and is the Tamil Nadu permit extra?
It is the piece that makes the long trip from Kolkata feel complete, standing at the southern tip of the mainland where three seas meet, with the Vivekananda Rock Memorial offshore. Kanyakumari is in Tamil Nadu, so an inter-state permit applies, and we build that into the vehicle cost rather than adding it later. We start early because the ferry queue to the rock memorial gets long on weekends.
When should I book, given Puja and winter demand?
Early. Durga Puja and the winter holidays are when Kolkata travellers move, and the 20 December to 5 January window is the peak for both flights and hotels. For those dates, book two to three months ahead, since flight seats out of Kolkata and good houseboats both go first. For fair weather at a calmer price, aim for late October, November or February.
Can you customize the trip for a family, a honeymoon or senior travellers?
Yes. Room category and meal plan are left open, so you decide per booking, and we can add nights, swap a shared houseboat for a private charter, trade a hill night for a beach one, or ease the pace with shorter drives for older travellers. Send us who is coming and roughly what you want, and we build the route around it.

Plan your Kerala trip from Kolkata

Send across your dates, your headcount and whether you would like us to add Kolkata flights or sort the Trivandrum-out connection for you. We will come back within a working day with a full day-by-day plan and a firm price, then keep adjusting it until it fits.
