Kerala Tour Packages from Kochi

Govt. of India enlistedLocal Kerala teamFull itinerary before payment

Our standard Kerala tour packages from Kochi start from Rs.3,108  per person for a 2 nights and 3 days break and run to a 9 nights and 10 days tour from Rs.18,999, land only. Because Kochi sits inside Kerala, your holiday begins the hour you land, with no connecting flight and no travel day lost.

Kochi is not a city you fly to before your Kerala trip begins. It is where the trip begins. Cochin International Airport is Kerala's busiest gateway, and the classic circuit, Munnar, Thekkady and the Alleppey backwaters, fans out from here and loops back. So, the fly-in maths that shapes a Delhi or a Kolkata trip does not apply. There is no three-hour flight to earn back and no half day handed to the airport at each end.

That changes what is worth booking. From a far city a two-night trip barely leaves the runway. From Kochi it is a real weekend, tea hills or a houseboat, with both ends of the day yours. Longer stays open up too, because every night you buy is a night in Kerala rather than in transit.

Below is the trip we most often build from Kochi, written out day by day, alongside the shorter and longer routes that also work. You get the full price by duration, what each package covers and leaves out, and where GST and any flights sit. We are trip2keralam, a Kerala-based operator with a team on the ground across the state, and every figure here comes from our current rate sheet.

Ready to fix dates? Send us your travel days and group size and we will hold a route against them with a firm, land-only quote before you pay anything.

Why Visit Kerala from Kochi?

Kochi is the most practical launch point in the state, and not for vague reasons. Here is what it actually gives you.

You start inside Kerala, not with a travel day

Cochin airport is Kerala's busiest hub, with wide domestic and Gulf connections. Your holiday begins the hour you land, with no connecting flight and no half day surrendered to getting to the start.

The classic circuit is built around Kochi

Munnar, Thekkady and the Alleppey backwaters all sit within a day's drive and loop back here, so one airport handles both your arrival and your departure with no backtrack.

Short trips are genuinely worth it

Because no day goes to travel, a 2 or 3 night Kerala break from Kochi delivers real tea hills or a full houseboat night, not just airport runs. From a far city those durations rarely make sense.

Fort Kochi is a destination in its own right

Five centuries of Portuguese, Dutch and Chinese trade, the hand-worked fishing nets, Mattancherry Palace and an evening Kathakali show, all before you leave the city limits.

Athirappilly is on your doorstep

Kerala's largest waterfall sits roughly 60 to 70 km northeast of the city, close enough to stay overnight by the river. Travellers on tight fly-in schedules usually skip it. From Kochi you do not have to.

Every direction is reachable

Hills to the east, backwaters to the south, Malabar and Wayanad to the north. Whatever the theme, honeymoon, family, wildlife or wellness, it plans cleanly from a Kochi base.

Most Popular Kerala Package from Kochi with Trip Cost

Kochi, Athirappilly, Munnar and Alleppey Nature Loop, 5 Nights / 6 Days

We recommend this one from Kochi for a reason no far-city page can honestly give. Starting here means you have not spent your first day flying, so there is room to open with a riverside night at Athirappilly. You reach the falls before the mid-morning buses arrive from Kochi and Thrissur, then climb to Munnar for two nights and finish on an Alleppey houseboat, looping back to Kochi so your return is simple. Waterfalls, tea hills and backwaters, in one clean circle.

Day 1: Fort Kochi, five centuries of trade in one walk

Pickup at Cochin airport or Ernakulam railway station and check in. The afternoon is a walk through Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, the Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church and the palace. In the evening you can add a Kathakali show, where most halls open an hour early so you can watch the make-up go on. Overnight in Kochi.

Day 2: To Athirappilly and Vazhachal

A short drive northeast via Chalakudy brings you to Athirappilly, an 80 foot curtain of water on the Chalakudy river, and the smaller Vazhachal falls just upstream. You stay by the river tonight rather than driving back, which is the whole point of this route. Overnight at Athirappilly.

Day 3: Charpa falls, then up to Munnar

Morning at Charpa falls and Thumboormuzhi while the area is still quiet, before the day traffic arrives from the city. Then the drive up to Munnar through the ghats and tea country, checking in by afternoon. Overnight in Munnar.

Day 4: Munnar sightseeing

A full day across the Munnar high range: Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point and Kundala Lake, up to Top Station, then the Tea Museum and Photo Point. Echo Point is a lay-by on the Mattupetty road with a lake and an echo that genuinely works. Overnight in Munnar.

Day 5: Down to Alleppey and onto the houseboat

Descend from the hills to Alleppey and board your houseboat around midday. The boat cruises the Kuttanad canals and all meals are served on board, cooked as you go. You anchor in a canal for sunset. Overnight on the houseboat, full board.

Day 6: Disembark and return to Kochi

Breakfast on the water, then disembark after check-out and drive back to Kochi for your drop at the airport or station. The loop closes where it started, so an onward flight from Cochin needs no extra planning.

Trip cost: from Rs.14,499 per person on twin sharing, land only, on bed and breakfast (the houseboat night is full board), as of August 2026 and subject to confirmation against your dates. Rates move on peak dates, roughly 20 December to 5 January, Onam, Christmas, New Year and long weekends.

Other durations that work from Kochi

Five nights is our pick, but four routes on either side of it suit different amounts of leave. Because no day is lost to travel, even the two-night break is a real trip from Kochi.

Duration Route (nights) From (per person) Best for
2N / 3D Fort Kochi (1N), Athirappilly (1N) Rs.3,921/ A genuine city-and-falls weekend, no long drives
3N / 4D Kochi, Munnar (2N), Alleppey houseboat (1N) Rs.5,962 Tea hills and a houseboat on a short trip
4N / 5D Kochi, Munnar (2N), Thekkady (1N), Alleppey houseboat (1N) Rs.6,456 The classic circuit, hills, spice and backwaters
5N / 6D  (Recommended) Kochi, Athirappilly, Munnar (2N), Alleppey houseboat (1N) Rs.7,991 Falls, hills and backwaters in one loop back to Kochi
6N / 7D Kochi, Munnar (2N), Thekkady, Alleppey houseboat, Kovalam Rs. 8,499 Everything above plus a beach finish at Kovalam

The 2 nights and 3 days break keeps you close to Kochi, the city and the waterfall, with no ghat driving. The 3 nights and 4 days escape adds the Munnar tea hills and a houseboat, the two experiences most people come to Kerala for. The 4 nights and 5 days Kerala Classic brings in Thekkady, its spice plantations and the Periyar Lake cruise. Our recommended 5 nights and 6 days swaps Thekkady for a riverside night at Athirappilly, which is the piece a Kochi start makes easy. The 6 nights and 7 days Best of Kerala keeps the full circuit and ends on the sand at Kovalam instead of a hill drive.

Not sure which length fits your leave? Tell us how many days you have, and if you are landing at Cochin or already in Kochi, and we will map the route to it.

Types of Kerala Packages from Kochi?

Every route below can start and finish at Kochi. These are the shapes travellers ask for most, with a representative package and its starting price from our rate sheet.

Kerala Family Tour Packages

Built around short driving days and rooms that fit a family. The 4 nights and 5 days Kochi, Munnar and Alleppey Family Trail opens with a Kochi night so there is no driving on arrival day, then covers the hills and a houseboat. Family rooms, connecting rooms and a larger vehicle are arranged in place of the standard twin.

Kerala Honeymoon Packages

Slower pace, longer stays and a private houseboat rather than a shared one. The 4 nights and 5 days Hills, Spice and Houseboat Romance run Munnar, Thekkady and a private Alleppey houseboat, and the six- and seven-night versions add a Kovalam or Varkala beach finish. A honeymoon suite or pool villa upgrade is quoted on request.

Kerala Budget Packages

The lightest way to see Kerala from Kochi. A 2 nights and 3 days break, Fort Kochi with Athirappilly or the Munnar tea-trails weekend, keeps the trip short and the cost down while still delivering either the city or the hills. All quoted per person on twin sharing, bed and breakfast, land only.

Kerala Adventure Tour Package

Kerala's outdoors sit in the hills and forests, and these are added onto a hill route rather than sold as a base inclusion. Think the Periyar boat cruise and bamboo rafting at Thekkady, the Chembra trek in Wayanad, or Gavi eco-tourism deep in the cardamom forest. Note that bamboo rafting, safaris and permit-based treks are not in the standard package price and are quoted as add-ons. Gavi and Chembra carry daily entry caps set by the forest department, so we book ahead.

Kerala Luxury Tour Package

The same routes, taken up a category. Premium and 4-star resorts, a private premium houseboat rather than a shared deck, and a meal plan lifted from bed and breakfast to half or full board. Every package on this page is upgradable, and the higher category is re-quoted at the time of booking rather than assumed.

Kerala Group Tour Packages

For extended families and friend groups travelling together. We hold room blocks, arrange connecting or two-bedroom units and a vehicle sized to the group, and keep one point of contact for the whole party. The return-to-Kochi loops suit groups best, since everyone books flights into and out of a single airport. Per-person rates ease as the group grows, and we quote against your exact numbers.

What's Included in Kerala Tour Packages from Kochi?

Every package on this page is land only and includes the following as standard. What you see named in the day plan is what is covered.

Included

  • Accommodation. Hotel or resort stay on twin sharing, bed and breakfast (room plus daily breakfast). The room category stays open so you choose it at booking.
  • Houseboat night on full board. Where the route has a houseboat: welcome drink, lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner and next-morning breakfast, all cooked on board, which is standard practice on Alleppey and Kumarakom boats.
  • Private AC vehicle. For all transfers and sightseeing as per the itinerary, with an experienced local driver cum guide who knows the routes.
  • All running costs of the vehicle. Fuel, toll, parking, any inter-state permit and the driver allowance, all inside the price.
  • Airport or railway pickup and drop. Met at Cochin airport or Ernakulam station and dropped back at the end of the loop.
  • Entry tickets and ride charges. For everything named in the day-by-day itinerary, including the Fort Kochi sights and, where listed, the Kathakali show.
  • 24x7 on-ground assistance. A reachable team in Kerala for the length of your trip, not a call centre in another state.

Not Included

Stated plainly, so there is no dispute later. These are not in the price unless you ask us to add them.

  • Air and rail fare. Every price here is land only. If you are flying in from another city, or want us to add flights or trains, we quote current fares separately.
  • Lunch and dinner on land nights. Included only on the houseboat night. On hotel nights the plan is bed and breakfast, so breakfast only unless you upgrade to half or full board.
  • Anything not named in the day plan. Including wildlife safaris, bamboo rafting and other adventure activities, which are quoted as add-ons.
  • Ayurveda, spa, camera fees, tips and personal expenses. Unless a treatment is specifically listed in your itinerary.
  • GST. Charged as applicable on tour packages, on top of the land price, and confirmed when we quote.
  • Room and meal-plan upgrades. Any move above standard category or above bed and breakfast is re-quoted.

Kerala Trip Cost from Kochi

Here is the full price by duration, from a weekend to a ten-day tour. All figures are starting-from, per person on twin sharing, land only, bed and breakfast, as of August 2026. Flights and GST sit on top. A few of the cheapest short routes launch from Trivandrum or Kozhikode rather than Kochi, which is noted in the route column.
Duration Standard price(pp) Best suited to
2N / 3D Rs.3,108 A weekend, one hill or one coast
3N / 4D Rs. 4,134 Hills plus a houseboat, short trip
4N / 5D Rs.6,479 The first full circuit
5N / 6D  (Our pick) Rs.6,499 Falls, hills and backwaters in one loop
6N / 7D Rs.8,499 The full circuit with a beach finish

8N / 9D Rs.10,999 Slow pace, no long single drive
9N / 10D Rs.13,499 Seeing the whole state in one trip
How booking and payment work: 50 percent of the package amount confirms the booking, with the balance due before departure or on arrival, by bank transfer. Dates can be changed, shortened or cancelled with 30 days' written notice, subject to availability. Inside 30 days the package amount is retained in full, and no-shows or unused nights are not refunded. Peak-date bookings may carry stricter hotel cancellation terms, which we confirm in writing before you pay.

Best Time to Visit Kerala

Kerala runs on two monsoons and a long clear season. From a Kochi base, here is how the year plays out.
  • October to March, the main season. Clear skies, comfortable days and the best conditions for hill viewpoints, houseboats and beaches. This is peak, so book two to three months ahead for December and January.
  • September to January for the waterfalls. Athirappilly and the Munnar streams run hardest after the rains, which is why our recommended loop leans on these months.
  • April and May, hot on the coast, pleasant in the hills. Munnar, Wayanad and Vagamon stay cool while Kochi and the beaches turn humid. A good window for a hills-only trip and lower rates.
  • June to September, the southwest monsoon. Green and quiet, and the traditional season for Ayurveda. Waterfalls are at full force, but the base of Athirappilly closes when the river is high, and houseboat cruising can be curtailed on rough days.
  • Onam, usually August or September. Kerala's biggest festival, with boat races and temple events, but also higher demand and prices. Worth timing for if you want the culture, worth avoiding if you want it calm.

Top Attractions Covered in Kochi to Kerala Holiday Packages

The places these routes actually take you, starting with what is on Kochi's doorstep.

  • Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. The hand-worked Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, the Dutch Palace murals and the spice lanes, a walkable port town layered by five centuries of trade.
  • Athirappilly and Vazhachal. Kerala's largest waterfall at around 80 feet on the Chalakudy river, roughly 60 to 70 km from the city, best as a riverside overnight.
  • Munnar. Rolling tea estates in the high range, with Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Top Station and the Tea Museum across a full sightseeing day.
  • Thekkady and Periyar. Spice plantations at Kumily and the early-morning Periyar Lake cruise inside the tiger reserve, on the four-night and longer routes.
  • Alleppey and the Kuttanad backwaters. The full houseboat night through the canals, with all meals cooked on board and a sunset anchorage.
  • Kovalam and the southern coast. Three crescent beaches and the Lighthouse Beach stretch, the finish on the six-night and longer circuits.

People Also Asked About Kerala Trip Packages from Kochi

Do Kerala tour packages from Kochi include the flight to Kochi?

No. Every price on this page is land only, per person on twin sharing. If you are already arriving at Cochin airport, that suits you as it is. If you want us to add flights or trains from your home city, tell us your dates and we will quote current fares on top of the land package.

I land at Cochin airport late at night. How does Day 1 work?
You check into your Kochi hotel and start fresh the next morning, which is exactly why our routes open with a Kochi night. Cochin airport is about 30 to 40 km from Fort Kochi, and our pickup is included whatever time you land. A red-eye arrival costs you no sightseeing, since Day 1 is a city walk, not a long drive.
Is it better to start a Kerala trip from Kochi or Trivandrum?
Kochi for most trips. It is central, its airport has the widest connections, and the classic circuit begins and ends here in a clean loop. Trivandrum makes sense mainly if your holiday is built around the southern beaches, Kovalam, Varkala and Poovar, where starting in the south saves a long transfer. We will tell you straight which fits your route.
Can I really do a short 2- or 3-day Kerala trip from Kochi?

Yes, and this is where a Kochi start pays off. From a far city a two-night trip loses most of its time to flying. From Kochi you keep both ends of every day, so a 2 nights and 3 days break covers Fort Kochi and Athirappilly, or the Munnar tea hills, without feeling rushed. It is a genuine weekend, not a token one.

How far is Athirappilly from Kochi, and is the overnight worth it?
Athirappilly is roughly 60 to 70 km northeast of the city, about two hours by road, and closer to the airport. The overnight is worth it because timing decides everything here. Buses and cars start arriving mid-morning from Kochi and Thrissur, so staying by the river puts you at the falls early, with Charpa and Thumboormuzhi almost to yourself the next morning.
Are entry tickets and any temple dress codes handled?
Entry tickets and ride charges for everything named in your day plan are inside the price. Where a route includes a temple, some, such as Guruvayur and the Padmanabhaswamy temple in Trivandrum, restrict entry to Hindus and enforce a strict dress code, men in a mundu and no western wear. We flag this before you travel so there are no surprises at the gate.
What does the price cover, and is GST extra?
The land price covers hotel stay with daily breakfast, the houseboat night on full board, a private AC vehicle with driver for all transfers and sightseeing, fuel, tolls, permits, entry tickets named in the plan, airport pickup and drop, and 24x7 support. GST is charged as applicable on top, and flights are separate. We confirm both when we quote your dates.
When should I avoid travelling for weather reasons?
June to September is the southwest monsoon. It is green and of good value, but the base of Athirappilly closes when the Chalakudy river runs high, and houseboat cruising can be cut short on rough days. If you want reliable hill views and calm backwaters, October to March is the safe window, with September to January best for the waterfalls at full force.

Plan your Kerala trip from Kochi

Send us your travel dates, your group size and your room preference, and our team in Kerala will build the plan: hotels, the houseboat, the vehicle and driver, and the day-by-day route, with a firm land-only quote before you commit. Tell us if you are flying into Cochin or already in Kochi, and if you want flights added, and we will shape the trip around it. Every itinerary is customisable.

Share your dates and we will send a costed, day-by-day Kerala plan from Kochi, flights on or off, with nothing hidden in the fine print.
