Wayanad Green Weekend — 2 Nights / 3 Days
Two nights is enough to take in Wayanad's main sights, the caves, the waterfalls and the dam, without rushing the climbs or the ghat drive. The road runs through the nine hairpin bends of the Thamarassery ghat, with the valley opening out at Lakkidi.
About this itinerary
This 2 nights and 3 days package covers Wayanad's highlights over two nights based around Vythiri or Kalpetta. You climb the Thamarassery ghat on Day 1, spend Day 2 at Edakkal Caves, the Soochipara waterfalls, Pookode Lake and the Wayanad Heritage Museum, and finish at the Banasura Sagar Dam on Day 3 before the drop.
The pacing keeps the two climbs, the ghat road and the steep walk up to Edakkal, on separate days so neither is rushed. The Edakkal climb is steep and closes in heavy rain, which is why October to May is the window that works for this itinerary.
Everything below is included unless it is listed under Add-ons.

Questions about this package
What does the Wayanad tour package include?
Standard package starts from ₹4,479 per person on twin sharing, land only, on BB (CP), as of August 2026 and subject to approval. Rates move during peak dates: 20 December to 5 January, Onam, Christmas, New Year and long weekends.
When is the best time to visit Wayanad?
October to May. The Edakkal climb is steep and shuts in heavy rain, and the waterfalls are the first thing to be restricted when the water is running high, so the monsoon months are the weakest window for this particular itinerary.
How hard is the climb to Edakkal Caves?
It is a sustained uphill walk on stone steps and rock-cut sections to a cleft in the hillside, and there is no way to reach the carvings without doing it. Anyone who cannot manage a steep climb is better off waiting at the base while the rest of the group goes up. Our team checks the day's access before you set out.
Is the Banasura reservoir speedboat included?
Yes. The speedboat run across Banasura reservoir is named in the Day 3 plan, so the ride charge is inside the quoted price. Boats run subject to water level and weather at the dam, and the operator can suspend them on the day, which is outside our control.
Is Wayanad better than Munnar for a short trip?
For a green, quiet trip, yes. Wayanad is less commercial, has better short treks and sees far fewer tour buses. Munnar wins on tea estate scenery and on the sheer number of places to eat and stay. Wayanad also gives you something Munnar cannot: rock art that predates almost everything else on a Kerala itinerary.
How do I book and pay?
50% of the package amount confirms the booking, and the balance is due before departure or on arrival. Payment is by bank wire transfer to our account, and confirmation follows receipt.
Can I change or cancel my dates?
Yes, with 30 days' written notice to the company, subject to availability. Inside 30 days the reservation cannot be changed, postponed or cancelled, and the package amount is retained in full. No-shows are not eligible for a refund, and there is no credit for unused nights or an early departure.
