Cochin Tour Packages
Cochin tour packages run 2 to 9 nights. A 2 night Fort Kochi heritage trip starts near ₹3,921 per person (standard tier price), while longer circuits that pair Cochin with Munnar, Alleppey and a houseboat reach about ₹13,449. Every package here is quoted at its standard tier, with Deluxe, Premium and Luxury tiers available for the same route. Price moves with nights, hotel category, meal plan and how many destinations you add.
One fact shapes how you plan this trip. Cochin is the arrival city, so unlike a hill station you do not lose a day getting there. Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery sits about 45 km from Fort Kochi, roughly an hour by road. The heritage core of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry fills one full day, a second if you like food and museums. Beyond that, Cochin travels best as the opening leg of a Munnar, Thekkady or Alleppey circuit, which is how most of these packages are built.

Cochin Tour Itinerary, Day By Day (The Recommended 2 Night Trip)
This is the Fort Kochi Heritage and Athirappilly Falls package, 2 nights and 3 days, from ₹3,921 per person (standard tier price). It pairs the Fort Kochi heritage walk with Kerala's largest waterfall, without a long transfer either day.
Day 1: Fort Kochi, five centuries of trade in one walk. Kochi pickup, then the Fort Kochi walk covering the Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, Mattancherry Palace and Jew Town, with an evening Kathakali or Kalaripayattu show. The high point is the Chinese fishing nets at dusk, still worked by hand by teams of four.
Day 2: Athirappilly and Vazhachal falls. Drive to Athirappilly via Chalakudy, visit the Athirappilly and Vazhachal falls and the Charpa stretch, and stay overnight in a riverside resort. Athirappilly at full volume is an 80 foot curtain of water on the Chalakudy river, fullest right after the monsoon.
Day 3: Departure. A morning at the falls or the Thumboormuzhi butterfly garden, then the drive back to Kochi for the drop. A relaxed final morning, with no early checkout rush.
Ready To Lock These Dates? Send us your travel dates and group size on WhatsApp or the enquiry form. Our Kerala team calls you, sends the full day-by-day plan with the exact price, and swaps hotels or nights until it fits. A 50 percent advance holds the rooms, the cab and the houseboat.
Cochin, Munnar And Backwaters, A 6 Day Itinerary Day By Day
This is the Kerala Golden Circuit package, 5 nights and 6 days, from ₹7,991 per person (standard tier price). It is the standard Kerala circuit run from Cochin, with a heritage night at the start so you are not driving on arrival day.
Day 1: Fort Kochi, five centuries of trade in one walk. Kochi pickup, the Fort Kochi walk covering the Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church and Mattancherry Palace, and an evening Kathakali show. The high point is the Chinese fishing nets at dusk.
Day 2: Climbing to Munnar through the waterfall country. Drive to Munnar with waterfall halts at Cheeyappara and Valara, then the Pothamedu viewpoint in the afternoon. The Cheeyappara and Valara stretch is where the road runs right past the water.
Day 3: Munnar sightseeing, dams, viewpoints and tea estates. Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Top Station, the Tea Museum and Photo Point. Reach Top Station early, before the mist closes in and takes the view with it.
Day 4: Thekkady, spice plantations and an evening of Kalari, optional and directly payable. Drive to Thekkady, a spice plantation walk at Kumily, and an evening of Kathakali and Kalaripayattu. Crushing a fresh cardamom pod in your hand at the plantation is nothing like the shop version.
Day 5: Boarding the houseboat at Alleppey. An early Periyar Lake cruise, the drive to Alleppey, then boarding the houseboat with all meals on board. The boat anchors for sunset in a canal, with dinner cooked on board.
Day 6: Disembarking and the onward drive. Disembark after breakfast and drive to Kochi for the drop. Breakfast on the water comes first, before you step back onto land.

Why Book Your Cochin Tour Package With trip2keralam
We start you in the right place, not in a car
Because Cochin is the arrival hub, we put the Fort Kochi heritage walk on day one and the long drive to the hills on day two. You see the port town fresh, not after four hours on the road, and you do not waste a jet-lagged afternoon in traffic.
We know when Athirappilly is open, and when it is not
The forest department closes the descent to the base of the falls at high water, mostly June to August. We tell you before booking whether the base walk will be on, and plan the viewpoint day around it rather than promising access we cannot guarantee.
We brief temple and heritage rules before you arrive
Guruvayur restricts entry to Hindus and enforces a dress code, and Mattancherry Palace and the Paradesi Synagogue keep weekly closing days. We check the calendar and brief the rules so a closed gate or a dress-code turnaround does not cost you a morning.
Honest trade-offs before you pay
If two nights of pure Cochin is more than the city needs, we say so and roll the spare night into Munnar or Alleppey. We would rather build the trip that works than sell an extra Cochin night to pad the invoice.
One coordinator for the whole trip
Your driver meets you at Cochin airport and a single coordinator stays reachable start to finish. If a festival closes a road or a hotel overbooks, one person fixes it, not a call centre.
When Is The Best Time To Visit Cochin?
October to February, the peak window
Roughly 23C to 32C on the coast, humid but comfortable. Best for the Fort Kochi walk, Marine Drive evenings and day trips to Athirappilly.
March to May
Hotter and stickier, the city's low season, with cheaper rates midweek.
June to September, the monsoon
Heavy rain, the fewest crowds, and Athirappilly at its most powerful. The base descent at the falls can close at high water and the hill drive to Munnar slows on wet roads.
Onam, in August or September
The main Kerala festival, when hotel rates rise and the city is at its liveliest.
Kochi-Muziris Biennale
When it runs, this art festival draws crowds through the winter months
How Many Days Do You Need in Cochin?
One to two nights covers Cochin itself. Fort Kochi and Mattancherry fill a full day, and Athirappilly adds a second. Beyond that, Cochin becomes the start of a longer Kerala route.
A single night handles the Fort Kochi heritage walk and an evening Kathakali show at a steady pace. Add a night for a day trip to Athirappilly, or a slow morning on Marine Drive and Cherai Beach. Past two nights, most travellers roll Cochin into the hills and backwaters: Munnar at about 130 km, Alleppey at about 55 km, or Thekkady for the Periyar cruise. That is why most Cochin packages are really Cochin-plus circuits.
How Do You Reach Cochin, And How Far Is The Airport?
Cochin is Kerala's main gateway. Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery is about 45 km from Fort Kochi and 29 km from Ernakulam. The main railheads are Ernakulam Junction and Ernakulam Town.
By air, Cochin International Airport (COK) is roughly an hour from Fort Kochi and about 45 minutes from Ernakulam by road. It is the busiest airport in Kerala, so most circuits fly in here. By train, Ernakulam Junction (South) and Ernakulam Town (North) connect the city to the rest of India, with the Paradesi Synagogue about 10 km from Ernakulam Junction. By road, NH-66 runs along the coast and NH-85 climbs east to Munnar and Thekkady. For a trip that ends on the southern coast, fly out of Trivandrum rather than driving back to Kochi.
Is Cochin Good For A Family Or First-time Kerala Trip?
Yes to both. First-timers get the whole of Kerala within easy reach of one airport, and families get short driving days and sights that work for children.
For first-time visitors, Cochin is the natural base: the Fort Kochi heritage walk, then the hills and backwaters a half-day's drive away. For families, the Kochi and Munnar getaway keeps drives short with no trek, and the Chinese fishing nets, a harbour full of ships and the Athirappilly falls hold children's attention better than another viewpoint. Multi-generation groups with elderly parents do well starting slow in Cochin before moving on.

Cochin Tour Package FAQs
How many days do you need in Cochin?
One to two nights covers Cochin itself. Fort Kochi and Mattancherry take a full day of walking, and a second night lets you add Athirappilly or a slow morning on Marine Drive and Cherai Beach. Most travellers spend one or two nights here and then move on to Munnar, Alleppey or Thekkady, which is why Cochin usually opens a longer Kerala route rather than filling the whole trip.
How much does a Cochin tour package cost per person?
Is Cochin worth visiting, or is it just a transit city?
What is the best time to visit Cochin?
October to March is best, dry on the coast with comfortable evenings, ideal for the Fort Kochi walk and day trips. March to May is hot and humid. Monsoon, June to September, is green and quiet and makes Athirappilly run fullest, but the falls base access can close at high water and the hill drive to Munnar slows in heavy rain.
Which places can you combine with Cochin?
The usual pairings are Munnar for tea estates at about 130 km, Alleppey for a houseboat at about 55 km, Thekkady for the Periyar cruise, and Athirappilly for the waterfall as a day trip. Longer circuits add Kovalam, Varkala or Marari on the coast. A 5 to 6 night trip fits Cochin with Munnar, Thekkady and a houseboat comfortably.
