Kerala Tour Packages for 10 Days
Our Kerala tour packages for 10 days start from Rs. 13,449 per person and give you nine nights, which is enough to stop packing every single morning. Ten days can run the whole state end to end, or settle into two-night bases across the hills, backwaters and coast, or push deep into offbeat Kerala. Best from October to March.
Nine nights is the point where Kerala stops being a route and starts feeling like a stay. On a five- or seven-day trip you spend the time deciding what to leave out. Here you decide how to use the extra room: more nights in fewer places, a second morning in every hill station, or the length of the coast from Bekal down to Kanyakumari.
There are eight of these ten-day trips on this page, and they are genuinely different holidays, not one plan with the days spread thinner. One runs the entire length of the state. Two are built only for honeymooners. One barely leaves the coast and its lakes. Which one suits you comes down to who is in your group and how you like to travel, not the number ten.
One honest note before you read on. A ten-day trip is long enough to travel with real breathing room, but a couple of these routes still carry one big driving day, and we flag it every time rather than bury it. The gain is pace. You unpack once in most places and get your second mornings back.

Three shapes cover most enquiries. If you want to come home able to say you have seen Kerala properly, the Complete Circuit and Ultimate Kerala routes give you the most ground. If you would rather slow down, the Slow Travel Retreat and the two honeymoon routes trade distance for longer stays. If you have been before, the Nilambur to Ponmudi run reaches the corners the standard trail skips.
Not certain which of the eight is yours? Send us the ages in your group and the dates you are looking at, on WhatsApp or by email, and we will come back with the two routes that fit and a per-person price for each.
What does a 10-day Kerala package cover?
Every route covers your hotels on twin sharing with daily breakfast, a private air-conditioned vehicle with a local driver for the whole trip, all listed entry tickets, airport pickup and drop, and, on the routes that include one, a full-board houseboat night. Air and rail fare, most lunches and dinners, and GST are extra.
One route, the Nilambur to Ponmudi offbeat tour, has no houseboat night by design; it trades the backwaters for forest country. Every other route on this page includes one.
Inclusions
- Hotel or resort on twin sharing, bed and breakfast: your room plus daily breakfast
- A private AC vehicle for every transfer and all sightseeing in the plan, with fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance
- A local driver cum guide who knows the routes, and the inter-state permit on routes that cross into Tamil Nadu
- Entry tickets listed in the day-by-day
- Airport or railway pickup and drop at both ends
- On the routes that carry one, a full-board houseboat night: welcome drink, lunch, evening tea and snacks, dinner and next morning's breakfast, all cooked on board

Exclusions
- Air and rail fare
- Lunch and dinner, except the houseboat full-board night where a route includes it

- Anything not listed under inclusions
What happens on each of the ten days?
Here is the Ultimate Kerala route, day by day, the one most first-timers pick. It moves north to south from Kochi, holds two nights each in Munnar and Thekkady, and finishes on the Kovalam sand. The other seven routes follow the same rhythm of two-night bases, with different stops.
Day 1: Fort Kochi and Mattancherry
We pick you up at Cochin airport and settle you into Fort Kochi. The afternoon is a slow walk through five centuries of trade: the Chinese fishing nets still worked by hand by teams of four, the spice godowns and Mattancherry, and an evening Kathakali show if you have anything left after the flight. Overnight in Fort Kochi.
Day 2: Athirappilly and Vazhachal Falls
A short drive out to Athirappilly, the largest waterfall in Kerala, an 80-foot curtain of water on the Chalakudy river that runs loudest just after the monsoon. Vazhachal sits a little upstream. You stay by the river tonight, which puts you ahead of the day-trip traffic that pours in from Kochi each morning. Overnight near Athirappilly.
Day 3: Charpa Falls, Then Up to Munnar
Catch Charpa falls early, before the Kochi crowd arrives, then start the climb into the hills. The road to Munnar runs right past the Cheeyappara and Valara falls and pulls in at the Pothamedu viewpoint as the tea slopes open out below you. Overnight in Munnar.
Day 4: A Full Day in Munnar's Tea Country
No long drive today. Mattupetty dam and Echo Point in the morning, Kundala Lake and Top Station further out, and the Tea Museum on the way back. Get to Top Station early. The mist usually closes in by late morning and takes the view of two states with it. Overnight in Munnar.
Day 5: Across to Thekkady and the Spice Hills
Drive over to Thekkady, spice-plantation country on the edge of the Periyar reserve. A plantation walk is worth doing with a guide, if only to crush a fresh cardamom pod in your hand, which is nothing like the shop version. The evening is a Kathakali and Kalaripayattu show. Overnight in Thekkady.
Day 6: Periyar Lake and a Free Second Day
This is where the two-night base earns its keep. The first boat on Periyar Lake goes out at first light, when the animals are still coming down to the water. After that the day is yours, for bamboo rafting or the guided border hike, both payable direct, or a wander through the Kumily spice market. Overnight in Thekkady.
Day 7: Down to Kumarakom and Vembanad Lake
Drop out of the hills to Kumarakom, on the edge of Vembanad, the largest lake in Kerala. A sunset shikara ride is the thing to do here, when the day boats have gone in and the water turns completely still. Overnight at Kumarakom.
Day 8: Bird Sanctuary at Dawn, Then the Houseboat
An early start at the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, at its best from November to March when the migratory birds arrive, then a short transfer to Alleppey to board your houseboat. Lunch, evening tea, dinner and next morning's breakfast are all cooked on board as the boat works through the Kuttanad paddy country, farmed below sea level behind earth bunds. Overnight on the houseboat.
Day 9: Off the Boat, South to Kovalam
Breakfast on the water, then you step back onto land and drive south to Kovalam. This is the longest run of the trip, so we set off after breakfast and aim to reach in time for sunset at Lighthouse Beach. Overnight in Kovalam.
Day 10: A Trivandrum Morning, Then Out
A short tour of Trivandrum on the way to the airport: the Padmanabhaswamy temple, the Napier Museum, and Kuthiramalika Palace, with its 122 carved wooden horses running along the eaves. Drop at Trivandrum airport or railway station.
Want this route, or a version of it with an extra beach night or a hill station swapped out? Tell us your dates and we will build the ten days around them, hotels, houseboat, vehicle and driver in one quote, before you commit.
What will ten days in Kerala cost?
Our 10-day Kerala packages run from Rs. 13,449 to Rs. 14,499 per person on the Standard tier, all on twin sharing, land only, as of September 2026. The routes cluster closely on that tier, and every route also comes in Deluxe, Premium and Luxury; here is how the tiers price on our most-booked route, Ultimate Kerala:| Tier | From (per person) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Rs. 13,449 | Comfortable hotels and a deluxe houseboat, on bed and breakfast |
| Deluxe | Rs. 14,449 | Upgraded hotels and a better class of houseboat |
| Premium | Rs. 16,999 | Premium hotels and a premium houseboat, prime rooms |
| Luxury | Rs. 17,999 | Luxury or boutique stays and a private luxury houseboat |
The two honeymoon routes are built around longer stays and more extras: a private premium houseboat rather than a shared cabin, candlelight dinners, couple Ayurveda sessions and room decoration at the hotels, which tell most once you move up the tiers.
When is the best time to visit Kerala for a 10-day trip?
October to March is the window for almost every route on this page. Here is how the seasons actually play out.
- October to March: the main season. The coast is at its driest, Munnar mornings are clearest, and the backwaters run calm. It is also when rates peak, over 20 December to 5 January and around Onam, Christmas and New Year, so the good properties book out first.
- June to September, the southwest monsoon: heavy rain, the hills at their greenest, and the lowest prices of the year. Coastal stretches and the ghat roads into Wayanad and Ponmudi can be slow going, and some houseboat and safari operations run limited hours.
- April and May: hot and humid on the coast, but the higher hills like Munnar stay comfortable. A fair window if your route leans towards the tea country rather than the beaches.
- For the Complete Circuit and any beach-finish route: stick to October to March, when the Bekal and Kovalam coasts are driest and the Kanyakumari sunrise is worth the early start.
Where do the ten-day routes start and end?
Most do not start and finish in the same city, and that is on purpose. Flying into one airport and out of another saves you a full day of driving back to where you began, and an open-jaw ticket usually costs about the same as a return into a single airport.
Kochi (COK) is the common start for the classic and family routes. The Complete Circuit begins at Mangalore, because Bekal sits at the top of the state, and finishes at Trivandrum. The Wildlife route flies into Kozhikode (CCJ) and out of Kochi. The offbeat and honeymoon routes end at Trivandrum (TRV) for a hill or beach finish. Pickup and drop are included at both ends, and we confirm the right flight plan before you book, not after.
What to know before you book
Houseboat timing
Houseboats on Alleppey and Kumarakom check in around midday, cast off after lunch and moor for the night, then check out after breakfast the next morning. The boats stay put after sunset, which is standard practice on the backwaters, so you are settled rather than moving through the dark.
Permits and daily caps
On the offbeat route, Gavi is capped each day by the Kerala Forest Development Corporation and needs advance reservation, and Ponmudi access is controlled by the forest department with a fixed last-entry time. We confirm both before building the rest of the trip. On the Complete Circuit, the Tamil Nadu inter-state permit for the Kanyakumari day is included in the vehicle cost.
Temples
Dress codes apply at temples such as Padmanabhaswamy in Trivandrum, and entry rules are set by the temple, not by us. Carry something modest if a temple stop is on your route.
What to pack
Light cottons for the coast and the backwaters, one warm layer for cool Munnar and Wayanad evenings, and modest clothing for temple visits. Travelling in the monsoon? Add a rain layer and shoes with grip for the wet viewpoints.
Who each route suits
Two-night bases and short transfers make most routes comfortable for older parents and children. The Nilambur to Ponmudi route, with its ghat climbs and long forest drives, is the one we steer families away from.
Why plan your 10-day Kerala holiday with trip2keralam
If ten nights is more than you have, our Kerala tour packages for 8 days keep the classic circuit in a shorter frame, and the full range sits on the Kerala tour packages hub. Couples can weigh up the two romance routes on our Kerala honeymoon packages page.
On the ground, running these routes ourselves
We are on the ground in Kerala and run these exact routes ourselves, from the airport pickup to the houseboat crew. The Bekal to Kanyakumari circuit and the Gavi and Ponmudi forest legs are trips we handle regularly, not lines lifted off a brochure.
The hard-to-get pieces confirmed first
We confirm the hard-to-get pieces first. Gavi's daily cap and Ponmudi's forest permit go into the plan before anything else, so your ten days are built around what is actually available on your dates.
Flights planned around the route, one firm quote
We plan the flights around the route, not the other way round, and push the open-jaw booking that saves you a day of backtracking. You get one firm per-person quote with the hotel category, houseboat type and meal plan spelled out, so the number you see is the number you pay.
Always reachable, and honest before you pay
Someone is reachable on the ground, 24x7, for the whole trip, and we tell you the honest trade-offs, the long drive on a route, the season that beats another, before you pay rather than after.
FAQs
Is 9 nights and 10 days enough to see all of Kerala?
It is enough to see a great deal of it well, though not every corner. Ten days comfortably links three or four regions, or the full length of the coast, with time to actually stop and look. Trying to bolt on the far north, the deep south and every hill station in one go turns the holiday into a car journey, which we would talk you out of.
Which 10-day Kerala route is best for a first visit?
Are there rest days built into a 10-day itinerary?
Yes, on most routes. Two-night bases in the hills hand you a free second morning, and the Slow Travel Retreat and honeymoon routes build in whole free afternoons at Kumarakom, Marari or Poovar. If you want more downtime, we can swap a sightseeing block for an open day when we plan around your dates.
Do the long driving days make a 10-day trip tiring?
Can a 10-day trip cover both north Kerala and Kanyakumari?
Yes. The Complete Circuit runs the whole state, from Bekal Fort on the Kasaragod coast down to Kanyakumari at the southern tip, roughly 1,300 km with nothing retraced. You fly into Mangalore and out of Trivandrum. The Tamil Nadu inter-state permit for the Kanyakumari day is included in the vehicle cost.
Is a 10-day Kerala trip good for a honeymoon?
What is the cheapest 10-day Kerala package?
Is a 10-day trip suitable for older parents and young children?
Most routes are, because the transfers are short and you stay two nights in most places rather than changing hotels every day. The Grand Family Holiday is built for mixed ages, with a second Kochi night and a beach afternoon at Marari. We would keep older parents and small children off the offbeat route, which has long forest drives and ghat roads.
Ready to plan your ten days?
Ten days is the length where Kerala stops being a checklist and starts being a holiday. Send us your dates and who is travelling, and we will turn one of these eight routes into a firm, per-person quote, then adjust it until it fits.
