Munnar Tour Packages: Costs, Itineraries and What You Actually Get
Munnar tour packages run 3 to 10 days and cost from around Rs. 3,108 per person (standard tier price) for a two-night tea-country break to about Rs. 14,499 for a week that adds Thekkady, an Alleppey houseboat, etc. Every package here is quoted at its standard tier, with Deluxe, Premium and Luxury tiers available for the same route. Price moves with the number of nights, hotel category, season and whether a houseboat is included.
One thing makes Munnar easier to plan than most Kerala hill trips: it sits close to Kochi. Cochin airport is about 110 km away, roughly 3.5 to 4 hours by road, so you can land in the morning and be in tea country by afternoon. That is why most of our trip’s pair it with a Thekkady spice-hills stay, an Alleppey houseboat, Fort Kochi, or the Kovalam coast. For circuits that start elsewhere, see all our Kerala tour packages.
What Does a Munnar Tour Package Cost?
Munnar tour packages start at about Rs. 3,108 per person (standard tier price) for two nights and rise to around Rs.14,499 for a ten-day circuit. Each package also comes in Deluxe, Premium and Luxury tiers for the same route, quoted on request. The price depends on nights, hotel category, season and whether a houseboat is part of the plan.
The table below lists the eight Munnar packages we run most often, sorted from shortest to longest. Every rate is per person on twin sharing, land only, with a room and daily breakfast. Prices are indicative starting-from rates as of August 2026 and firm up once you confirm dates and hotel category. Peak dates from 20 December to 5 January, Onam and long weekends cost more, and we say so before you book.
| Package | Duration | Places covered | Price(standard tier) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Munnar Tea Trails Weekend Break | 2N/3D | Kochi, Munnar | Rs. 3,108 | A quick Munnar-only break |
| Munnar and Alleppey Express | 2N/3D | Kochi, Munnar, Alleppey | Rs. 4,913 | Hills plus a houseboat in 3 days |
| Munnar and Thekkady Hill Classic | 3N/4D | Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady, Kumily | Rs. 4,981 | Two hill stations, no backwaters |
| Kochi and Munnar Family Getaway | 3N/4D | Kochi, Munnar | Rs. 4,418 | Families, short driving days |
| Misty Munnar and Houseboat Romance | 3N/4D | Kochi, Munnar, Alleppey | Rs. 5,485 | Couples wanting a private houseboat |
| Kerala Classic: Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey | 4N/5D | Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, Kuttanad | Rs. 6,456 | First-time Kerala visitors |
| Kerala Golden Circuit | 5N/6D | Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, Kuttanad | Rs. 7,991 | The classic route, unhurried |
| Best of Kerala: Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, Kovalam | 6N/7D | Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, Kovalam | Rs. 8,499 | A full week ending at the beach |
Two things move the number most: how many nights you stay and whether a houseboat is included. A houseboat night is quoted on full board, so it carries all meals and lifts the per-person figure. Flights and trains are never in these prices.

Why Book Your Munnar Tour Package With trip2keralam?
Our team is in Kerala, not in a call centre somewhere else
The team that quotes your Munnar trip is the same team that meets you at Cochin airport and stays reachable through it. When a hill road is slow after rain or a temple has a festival closure, we re-sequence the day on the ground instead of leaving you to sort it out.
We quote what you actually pay
You get a full day-by-day plan with an exact price before you commit, not a starting-from figure that moves at the end. Peak-date costs for 20 December to 5 January, Onam and long weekends are told to you upfront, in writing.
A private car and a driver who knows the Munnar routes
Every package uses a private air-conditioned vehicle with a driver who runs the Cheeyappara ghat road and the Munnar to Thekkady stretch regularly. No shared coaches, and no waiting on other guests to move.
Houseboats booked on full board, the right way
On any Alleppey or Kumarakom night we book the houseboat on full board, because that is how the operators sell it. For couples we book a private boat rather than a shared one, and we name it in your plan so there is no surprise at the jetty.
We tell you what to skip
We will say when two nights is too rushed for your group, when the monsoon will hide the viewpoints, and when Varkala suits you better than Kovalam. Honest trade-offs mean fewer cancellations and a trip that actually fits you.
When Is the Best Time to Visit Munnar?
September to March
Clear air, the tea slopes at their best, and evenings that need a jacket from November onwards. This is also the busiest season, so peak dates fill early.
April and May
Warm and comfortable, greener and cooler than most of South India, and a common school-holiday choice.
June to August (monsoon)
Green and cheaper, but Top Station and Echo Point often sit under cloud, and the Kochi to Munnar hill road can be slow after heavy rain. If you travel then, we build in buffer time and monitor road conditions.
Eravikulam National Park
home to the Nilgiri Tahr, closes from 1 February to 31 March each year for calving and reopens on 1 April.
The next Neelakurinji mass bloom
which happens once every twelve years, is expected in 2030 (as of September 2026).
How Many Days Do You Need In Munnar?
Two nights covers Munnar itself, one day up from Kochi and one full sightseeing day. Three nights lets you slow down or add Thekkady or a houseboat, and four to five nights turns Munnar into a full Kerala circuit.
A two-night trip fits the classic loop of Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Top Station and the Tata Tea Museum at a steady pace. Add a night for an unhurried morning, a shikara ride on Kundala Lake, or a spice-hills drive to Thekkady. Beyond three nights, Munnar usually becomes the opening leg of a longer route, south to Alleppey for a houseboat or on to Kovalam for the coast. Most first-time Kerala visitors settle on four to five nights.
How Do You Reach Munnar, And How Far Is It from Kochi?
Munnar has no airport or railway of its own. The nearest airport is Cochin, about 110 km away, and the drive from Kochi takes about 3.5 to 4 hours on NH85.
By air, Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery is roughly 3.5 to 4 hours from Munnar on NH85, the climb running through Neriamangalam and the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfall stretch. By train, the nearest railheads are Ernakulam and Aluva, about 110 to 130 km away, then the same road up. From Bengaluru or Coimbatore, travellers usually come via Udumalpet and Marayoor to the north. Every package includes a private car with airport or station pickup and drop, so you are not arranging local transport on arrival.
Is Munnar Good for a Family or Honeymoon Trip?
Yes to both. Families get boating, the Tea Museum and short driving days; couples get cool misty evenings, a private houseboat and quiet tea-estate mornings.
For families, a Kochi night at the start keeps the first day easy, waterfall halts break the climb, and Mattupetty Dam boating and the Tea Museum demonstration hold children's interest without any trekking. For honeymooners, our couple packages add a decorated room, a candlelight dinner and a private houseboat rather than a shared one, and Munnar evenings in December and January are cold enough to make the trip feel special. We keep long transfer days off young families' plans and say so before booking.
Munnar at a Glance: Distances, Altitude and Key Facts
