Kerala Tour Packages for 7 Days

Govt. of India enlistedLocal Kerala teamFull itinerary before payment

Our standard Kerala tour packages for 7 days run from Rs. 8,499 to Rs. 8,999 per person for six nights, long enough to travel the length of the state in one direction and finish by the sea rather than doubling back. Fort Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady, an Alleppey houseboat and a Kovalam beach close, unhurried.

A week is the point where Kerala stops asking you to choose. Shorter trips make you pick a lane, the hills or the water, the classic circuit or the coast. Seven days lets you run the whole spine of the state, from the old port at Kochi down through the Western Ghats and the backwaters to the Arabian Sea, and step off a plane at the other end instead of driving back to where you started.

That last part matters more than most itineraries admit. Fly into Kochi and out of Trivandrum and your final day is a beach morning, not six hours in a car retracing the route. We build most of our seven-day trips this way, and it usually costs no more than flying in and out of one airport.

We run different 6N/7D routes, not one template with the days stretched. The classic Kochi to Kovalam circuit is what most first-timers want. Couples lean towards a private houseboat and a cliff or beach finish. Some travellers skip the standard trail for the north coast or the Gavi forest. Every route below is handled end to end by our team in Kerala.

Seven days is generous, but it is still not the whole state. You are choosing one line through Kerala and following it properly, which beats skimming everything. Below you can see where each route goes, what it costs and who it suits before you enquire.

6 Nights 7 Days Kerala Tour Packages

A 6 nights 7 days Kerala trip is a full week, enough to add Kochi's old quarters to the usual hills, backwaters, and beach run. The extra nights mean fewer transit days and more time to settle in. Our on-ground team builds in the breathing room short trips miss. Compare below.

The eight 7 day routes, in a little more detail

Best of Kerala: Kochi to Kovalam (most popular)

The classic Kerala 7 day itinerary from Kochi. Fort Kochi on arrival, two nights in Munnar for the tea estates, Thekkady for the spice walk and the Periyar Lake cruise, a houseboat night through Kuttanad, then a coastal run to Kovalam and a Trivandrum heritage morning to finish. From Rs. 8,499 per person.

Kerala Slow Trail: Kochi, Kumarakom, Alleppey, Kovalam

The same length with the driving cut right down. A Fort Kochi night, two settled nights at Kumarakom on Vembanad Lake, a full houseboat night through Kuttanad and two nights at Kovalam. Good if you want the backwaters and the coast without the hill roads. From Rs. 8,999 per person.

Kerala Family Grand Tour: circuit plus a free Marari beach day

Fort Kochi, two nights in Munnar, Thekkady for the spice hills and the Periyar cruise, a Kuttanad houseboat night, then a free day at Marari beach before a short run back to Kochi. Built around short drives and an unstructured beach day for families. From Rs. 8,499 per person.

Hills and Wildlife: Munnar, Thekkady, Wayanad

For travellers who come for the hills, not the houseboat. Two nights each in Munnar and Wayanad, a Thekkady stop with the Periyar cruise, and Edakkal Caves and Banasura Sagar Dam up north. This route skips the backwaters entirely. From Rs. 8,499 per person.

Complete Kerala Romance: the honeymoon circuit

The full Kerala circuit is built for two. Fort Kochi, two nights in Munnar, Thekkady with an optional couple Ayurveda massage, a private premium houseboat on Vembanad Lake and a Kovalam finish, with flower-bed decoration arranged at each hotel. From Rs. 8,999 per person.

Hills, Houseboat and Varkala Cliffs

A honeymoon route that swaps the usual Kovalam close for two nights on the Varkala cliff. Two nights in Munnar, Thekkady, a private houseboat on Vembanad Lake, then Varkala for the north cliff, Papanasam beach and Kappil Lake. From Rs. 8,499 per person.

North Kerala Discovery: Wayanad to Bekal

The state most tour buses miss. Two nights in Wayanad, a Kozhikode night with the Beypore boatyards, a Kannur night with handloom weaving and Theyyam in season, and two nights at Bekal with the Valiyaparamba backwaters. Runs Kozhikode to Mangalore. From Rs. 8,999 per person.

Offbeat Kerala: Athirappilly, Vagamon, Gavi, Thekkady

For repeat visitors and quiet-route travellers. A riverside night at Athirappilly falls, two nights in the Vagamon meadows, a night inside the Gavi forest settlement and two at Thekkady with the Periyar cruise. One of the lowest-priced of the eight, from Rs. 8,499 per person.

What is Included & Excluded

Every seven-day package below is quoted land only on twin sharing with daily breakfast, a private AC vehicle for the whole trip, and the houseboat night on full board where the route has one. Here is the full split so there are no surprises at the end.

Included in the price

  • Hotel or resort stay on twin sharing, BB (CP): room plus daily breakfast
  • A private AC vehicle for every transfer and all sightseeing on the itinerary, not shared and not point to point
  • An experienced local driver cum guide who knows the routes
  • All fuel, tolls, parking, inter-state permits and driver allowance
  • Airport or railway station pickup and drop
  • Entry tickets and ride charges for everything named in the day-by-day plan
  • On routes with a houseboat, the houseboat night on full board: welcome drink, lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner and next-morning breakfast, which is standard on Alleppey and Kumarakom houseboats
  • 24x7 on-ground assistance from the trip2keralam team in Kerala

Excluded

  • Air and rail fare
  • Lunch and dinner, except where the houseboat full board is stated
  • Anything not named in the day-by-day plan, including wildlife safaris, bamboo rafting and adventure activities
  • Ayurveda treatments and spa, camera fees, tips and personal expenses
  • GST as applicable on tour packages
Stating the exclusions plainly is deliberate. A safari booked on the spot or a temple camera fee is a small cost, but only if you knew about it before you travelled.

The classic 7-day Kerala itinerary, day by day

Day 1: Fort Kochi, five centuries of trade in one walk

Pickup at Kochi airport or railway station and check in. The afternoon is a walk through Fort Kochi, the Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church and the Mattancherry Palace, which is closed on Fridays. In the evening you can add a Kathakali show, paid directly at the venue.

Stay: Overnight in Kochi.

Day 2: Climbing to Munnar through waterfall country

A morning drive up into the hills, roughly four hours, with halts at the Cheeyappara and Valara falls where the road runs right past the water. The afternoon is free at the Pothamedu viewpoint over the tea slopes.

Stay: Overnight in Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar, dams, viewpoints and tea estates

A full day around Munnar covering Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Top Station, the Tea Museum and Photo Point. This is the second Munnar night that a shorter trip usually gives up, and it is what makes the hills feel unhurried rather than a drive-through.

Stay: Overnight in Munnar.

Day 4: Thekkady, spice plantations and evening of Kalari (optional)

Down to Thekkady, about three and a half hours, and a spice plantation walk at Kumily where you crush a fresh cardamom pod in your hand. The evening is a Kathakali and Kalaripayattu performance (optional)

Stay: Overnight in Thekkady.

Day 5: Boarding the houseboat at Alleppey

An early Periyar Lake boat cruise, then the drive to Alleppey to board your houseboat around midday. Lunch is served as you cast off, and the boat moves through the Kuttanad canals before anchoring for sunset with dinner cooked on board.

Stay: Overnight on the houseboat, full board.

Day 6: Off the water and down the coast

Disembark after breakfast and drive south to Kovalam along the coastal road, about four hours, arriving in time for sunset at Lighthouse Beach. After six days inland, the sea is the point.

Stay: Overnight in Kovalam.

Day 7: A Trivandrum heritage morning

A short city round in Trivandrum covering the Padmanabhaswamy Temple and the Napier Museum, with the Kuthiramalika Palace and its 122 carved wooden horses alongside. Drop at Trivandrum airport or railway station.

Stay: Trip ends.

What does a 7 day Kerala trip cost per person?

Our seven-day packages run from Rs. 8,499 to Rs. 8,999 per person on the Standard tier, on twin sharing, land only, with daily breakfast, as of September 2026. Every route also comes in Deluxe, Premium and Luxury tiers, and where you land depends on the tier you choose, whether the houseboat is a shared or a private premium one, and when you travel. Here is how the four tiers price on our most-booked route, the Best of Kerala circuit. Every route follows the same structure.
TierFrom (per person)What you get
StandardRs. 8,499Comfortable hotels and a deluxe houseboat, on bed and breakfast
DeluxeRs. 9,499Upgraded hotels and a better class of houseboat
PremiumRs. 10,499Premium hotels and a premium houseboat, prime rooms
LuxuryRs. 11,999Luxury or boutique stays and a private luxury houseboat
What moves it up: an upgrade from Standard to Deluxe, Premium or Luxury; a shift from breakfast-only to half or full board; an extra bed or single supplement; and peak dates. Air and rail fare and GST sit outside the package. We quote the all-in per-person figure before you commit, so the number you see is the number you pay.

When is the best time to visit Kerala?

The short answer for a seven-day trip is October to March. Here is how the year actually breaks down, so you can weigh weather against crowds and cost.

  • October to March, the main season: dry, comfortable days, cool evenings in the hills and the best conditions for the full circuit and a houseboat night. This is when the classic routes are at their best.
  • December to January, peak: the coolest and busiest weeks. Rooms and houseboats fill early and rates rise over the 20 December to 5 January window, so book well ahead.
  • February to March, the sweet spot: still dry, warmer by the day, thinner crowds and better value before the summer heat sets in.
  • April to May, summer: hot and humid on the plains and the coast, though hill stations like Munnar stay pleasant. Rates ease, and it suits a hills-heavy route more than a beach one.
  • June to September, the southwest monsoon: green, quiet and cheap, with fewer tourists. Houseboats still run, but the odd plan shifts for weather and some hill viewpoints turn misty. Good for travellers who like the rain and the lower prices.
  • Onam, around August or September: Kerala at its most festive, worth timing a trip around, but book early because the whole state travels then.

How you reach Kerala and where the trip starts

Most of our seven-day routes begin at Cochin International Airport (COK), the state's main gateway and the easiest to reach from the rest of India. From there the trip runs south and, on the circuit routes, ends near Trivandrum (TRV).

This is why we push the open-jaw booking. Fly into Kochi and out of Trivandrum and you save a full day of driving back north on your last morning. The two airports are both well connected, and a one-way-each booking usually costs about the same as a return into one. The north routes work the other way, starting near Kozhikode (CCJ) and ending towards Mangalore, and we plan the pickup around whichever airport your route uses.

What to know before you book

Houseboat timing

Where a route has a houseboat, check-in is around noon, your first meal on board is lunch, and you step off after breakfast the next day. Through the night the boat stays moored rather than moving, a rule that covers the backwaters and forest zones, not anything the boat itself cannot do.

Temple entry

Should your route take in the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum, the temple sets the dress code, not us: men wear a dhoti, women a saree or set-mundu, and phones and cameras stay outside. The Napier Museum and Kuthiramalika Palace sit right beside it, so you get a full morning either way.

Pacing for the group

A seven-day circuit sits well with most families and older travellers, mainly because two of the nights fall together in Munnar. Your longest hauls are the drive down to Kovalam and the pull up to Munnar, roughly four hours each. Let us know if long drives are hard for anyone in the group and we will point you towards the Slow Trail or a route that gives two nights at each stop.

What to pack

Pack light cottons for the coast and the backwaters, one warm layer for chilly Munnar evenings, and modest clothing for any temple visit. If you are travelling in the monsoon, add a rain layer and shoes with grip for the wet viewpoints.

Why book your 7-day Kerala trip with trip2keralam

We are a Kerala-based operator, not a national aggregator reselling a route we have never driven. Our team lives and works across the state, and that shows up in the small decisions that make a week run smoothly.

If a week is more than you have, our Kerala tour packages for 6 days cover the same ground with one night less. With more time, our 8 day and 10 day Kerala itineraries add Wayanad or the far north to the classic circuit. For the water-only version, see our Alleppey houseboat packages, and for the hills on their own, our Munnar tour packages.

Honest routing

We plan the trip open-jaw where it saves you a day, and we say so up front, even though a return booking would look tidier on paper.

Private vehicle

The vehicle is private and stays with you for the whole trip, with a driver who knows which viewpoint clears of cloud by mid-morning and which road is being resurfaced this month.

Vetted stays

The houseboats and hotels are ones we work with directly, so a full-board houseboat means the meals we listed, cooked on board, not a stripped-back version.

Always reachable

Someone from our team in Kerala is reachable 24x7 through the trip, not a call centre in another state.

Fully flexible

Every route is customisable. Room category and meal plan stay open at booking, and we rework the days around your dates and group rather than the other way round.

7 day Kerala packages: FAQs

Is 7 days enough to see Kerala properly?

For one clean line through the state, yes. A week lets you run the full Kochi to Kovalam circuit at a real pace, with two nights in Munnar, the Periyar cruise and a houseboat night that never feels rushed, and still finish at the coast. It is not enough for the whole state north to south, which is a two-week trip.

Is a week too long for Kerala, or will we run out of things to do?

You will not run out. Seven days fills comfortably without padding, because the extra nights go into seeing places properly rather than adding stops. If anything, the risk with a week is over-packing it, which is why our routes build in a settled second night in Munnar and a slow houseboat day.

Can we do the full circuit and still have a rest day?
Yes, and it is built in. The two nights in Munnar mean a full day with no long drive, and the houseboat day is a rest day by design once you board around midday. If you want more downtime, the Slow Trail and Family Grand Tour routes add a second beach or backwater night instead of a sightseeing one.
Where can we do laundry on a seven-day trip?

Most of the hotels and resorts on these routes offer a paid laundry service, usually back the same evening or next morning if you hand it in early. The houseboat night is the one gap, since there is no laundry on board, so plan a change of clothes around it. Tell us if you need budget stays with laundry and we will factor it in.

Do the routes start and finish in the same place?
Mostly not, and that is the point of a week. The circuit routes start at Kochi and end near Trivandrum, which is why we recommend flying in and out of different airports. The Family Grand Tour and Offbeat routes loop back to Kochi, and the north route runs Kozhikode to Mangalore. We tell you the start and end airport for the route you pick.
Which 7 day route is best for a first visit?
The Best of Kerala circuit, from Rs. 8,499 per person. It covers what Kerala is known for, Fort Kochi, the Munnar tea hills, Thekkady spice country, an Alleppey houseboat and a Kovalam beach, in the order that involves the least backtracking. First-timers who want the postcard version of the state without cutting corners take this one.
How much of a 7 day Kerala trip is spent driving?
Less than most people fear. On the circuit the two longest drives are the Munnar climb and the run down to Kovalam, both around four hours, and the rest are shorter hops between neighbouring stops. Two of the seven days involve almost no driving at all, the second Munnar day and the houseboat day.
Is a seven-day trip too much for elderly parents or young children?
It is one of the better lengths for both, because the pace is spread out rather than crammed. Choose a route with two-night stops and short transfers, such as the Slow Trail or the Family Grand Tour, and the long drive days drop away. We can also swap a hill stop for an extra backwater or beach night if the group prefers.

Plan your 7 days in Kerala with our team

A week in Kerala is worth planning around one honest line through the state rather than a rushed loop. Tell us when you are travelling and who is coming, and our team in Kerala will put together your seven-day plan, hotels, houseboat, vehicle and route, with a firm per-person quote before you commit.

Send your dates and group size on WhatsApp or by email and we will send back a seven-day route and price the same day.
