Kerala Classic: Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey — 4 Nights / 5 Days
Two nights in Munnar for the tea estates and viewpoints, one in Thekkady for the spice plantations and the Periyar Lake cruise, and one on a houseboat through the Kuttanad backwaters, round trip from Kochi.
About this itinerary
This 4 nights and 5 days package covers Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey from Kochi, based on two nights in Munnar, one in Thekkady and one on a houseboat. Day 1 climbs to Munnar past the Cheeyappara and Valara falls, Day 2 runs the full Munnar sightseeing loop, Day 3 drives to Thekkady for a spice plantation walk, Day 4 takes an early Periyar Lake cruise then boards the houseboat at Alleppey, and Day 5 disembarks after breakfast for the drive to Kochi.
The pacing puts the highest point and the lowest point of the trip three days apart and loops back to Kochi with no backtracking. Alleppey houseboats cruise through the afternoon and anchor by around 5.30 pm, so the boat is moored for sunset and dinner rather than cruising after dark.
Everything below is included unless it is listed under Add-ons.

Questions about this package
What does the Kerala Classic Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey package cover?
Two nights in Munnar for the tea estates and viewpoints, one night in Thekkady for a spice plantation walk and an early Periyar Lake cruise, and a full houseboat night through the Kuttanad backwaters, round trip from Kochi. Day 5 disembarks after breakfast for the drive back to Kochi.
What is included in the package?
Hotel stay on twin sharing with daily breakfast, the houseboat night on full board, a private AC vehicle for all transfers and sightseeing, all fuel, toll, parking, permits and driver allowance, airport or railway station pickup and drop, entry tickets and ride charges for everything named in the day-by-day itinerary, and 24x7 on-ground assistance from our team in Kerala. Anything not named in the day plan is not included.
Are meals included on the houseboat night?
Yes. The houseboat night is served on full board: welcome drink, lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner and next-morning breakfast, all cooked on board. That is standard practice on Alleppey and Kumarakom houseboats. On the land nights the plan is BB (CP), so breakfast only.
Is four nights enough for a first trip to Kerala?
Yes, and this is the split we recommend. Two nights in Munnar, one in Thekkady and one on the houseboat covers hills, spice, wildlife and backwaters without a single wasted drive, and the trip loops back to Kochi so you never repeat a road.
When does the Periyar Lake boat cruise happen, and why so early?
On Day 4, before the drive to Alleppey. We put you on an early boat because animals are still coming down to the water then and the lake is quieter. Slots are issued by the forest authority, so our team books ahead rather than turning up on the day.
Can this itinerary be customised?
Yes. Customization option is available. The room category and meal plan stay open, upgrades to deluxe, 4-star or premium and to MAP or AP are re-quoted, and the package works with or without flights.
How do I book, and what happens if I cancel?
50% of the package amount confirms the booking, and the balance is due before departure or on arrival. Payment is by bank wire transfer to our account. Dates may be changed, shortened or cancelled with 30 days' written notice, subject to availability. Inside 30 days the package amount is retained in full.
