About this itinerary

This 6 nights and 7 days family package covers Munnar, Thekkady and Wayanad, based on two nights at each hill station. Day 1 climbs to Munnar past the waterfalls, Day 2 is the full Munnar sightseeing loop, Day 3 crosses to Thekkady for the spice plantations, Day 4 takes the Periyar Lake cruise at first light, Day 5 is the long drive north to Wayanad, Day 6 covers Edakkal Caves, Soochipara falls, Pookode Lake and Banasura Sagar Dam, and Day 7 descends the Thamarassery ghat to Kozhikode.

Two nights at each stop means you unpack once and give each hill station a full day. The one thing we flag upfront: the Thekkady to Wayanad leg on Day 5 runs close to eight hours, the price of covering both ends of the Ghats in one trip, so families with toddlers should take a different route and we will say so rather than take the booking.

Questions about this package

What does the Munnar, Thekkady and Wayanad package cover?

Two nights each at Munnar, Thekkady and Wayanad, with the full Munnar sightseeing loop, the Periyar Lake cruise, a guided spice plantation walk, and Edakkal Caves, Soochipara falls, Pookode Lake and Banasura Sagar Dam in Wayanad. Hotels are on bed and breakfast, and a private AC vehicle covers all transfers, sightseeing and entry tickets, with the drop at Kozhikode.

Is this Kerala package suitable for families with young children?

For families with older children who enjoy the outdoors, yes. For toddlers, no, and we will tell you that rather than take the booking. The Day 5 transfer from Thekkady to Wayanad runs close to eight hours, which is a lot for a small child. Ask us and we will suggest a shorter route instead.

What is included?

Hotel or resort stay on twin sharing with daily breakfast, a private AC vehicle for all transfers and sightseeing, all fuel, toll, parking, inter-state permit and driver allowance, airport or railway station pickup and drop, entry tickets for everything named in the day-by-day itinerary, and 24x7 on-ground assistance from our team in Kerala. Anything not named in the day plan is not included.

Why does the trip use two nights at every stop?

So you unpack once at each place instead of every night. Two nights in Munnar, two in Thekkady and two in Wayanad give each hill station a full day of sightseeing without a checkout in the middle of it, which is what makes this route workable with children.

Are bamboo rafting and wildlife safaris included?

No. The Periyar Lake boat cruise is included, but bamboo rafting is payable directly and so are wildlife safaris and other adventure activities. Day 4 gives you the choice between bamboo rafting and the guided nature walk.

Can this itinerary be customised?

Yes. Customization option is available. Room category and meal plan stay open, family rooms, connecting rooms and two-bedroom cottages are available on upgrade, and the package works with or without flights.

How do I book, and what happens if I cancel?

50% of the package amount confirms the booking and the balance is due before departure or on arrival. Payment is by bank wire transfer to our account. Dates may be changed, shortened or cancelled with 30 days written notice, subject to availability. Cancellations made within 30 days of your travel dates are non-refundable.
