Coast to Coast: Bekal, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kochi — 7 Nights / 8 Days
A north to south run down the Malabar coast: Bekal Fort and the Valiyaparamba backwaters, Kannur's fort, handlooms and Theyyam, the Beypore boatyards and Kozhikode food streets, two nights in Wayanad, and Fort Kochi to close. Hotels, a private AC vehicle, sightseeing, entry tickets and daily breakfast are included, with pickup at Mangalore, the nearest airport to Bekal.
About this itinerary
This 7 nights and 8 days Kerala tour package covers Bekal, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kochi, based on two nights at Bekal, a night in Kannur, a night in Kozhikode, two nights in Wayanad and a night at Fort Kochi. Day 1 is Bekal Fort at sunset, Day 2 is the Valiyaparamba backwater cruise, Day 3 covers Kannur's fort, handlooms and Theyyam, Day 4 is Beypore and the Kozhikode food streets, Day 5 climbs the Thamarassery ghat into Wayanad, Day 6 is the Edakkal Caves and Wayanad sights, Day 7 is a Fort Kochi walk, and Day 8 is Mattancherry before the Kochi drop.
This route runs the Malabar coast that most Kerala packages skip, so it suits guests flying into Mangalore, the nearest airport to Bekal and often cheaper than Kozhikode. The one thing we never promise is Theyyam: its dates follow individual shrine calendars rather than a published schedule, so we check with the local kavu close to your travel dates and tell you honestly what the chances are.
Everything below is included unless it is listed under Add-ons.

Questions about this package
What does the Coast to Coast Bekal to Kochi tour package cover?
Two nights at Bekal for the sea fort and the Valiyaparamba backwaters, a night in Kannur for St Angelo Fort, handlooms and Theyyam, a night in Kozhikode for Beypore and the SM Street food, two nights in Wayanad, and a Fort Kochi night to close, from a Mangalore pickup to a Kochi drop. Stays are on bed and breakfast, and a private AC vehicle covers all transfers and sightseeing.
Which airport should I fly into for this Malabar route?
Mangalore. It is the nearest airport to Bekal and is often cheaper than Kozhikode, and pickup there is included. The trip runs north to south and ends at Kochi, so book an open-jaw ticket and fly out of Kochi rather than driving back up the coast.
Will I actually get to see Theyyam?
Only if the shrine calendar allows it. Theyyam dates are set by individual kavus rather than published as a state schedule, so we check with the local kavu close to your travel dates and tell you honestly what the chances are. It is a ritual, not a scheduled performance, so we never sell it as a guaranteed inclusion.
What is included in the package?
Hotel or resort stay on twin sharing with daily breakfast, a private AC vehicle for all transfers and sightseeing, all fuel, toll, parking, inter-state permit and driver allowance, entry tickets and ride charges for everything named in the day-by-day itinerary, airport or railway station pickup and drop, and 24x7 support from our team in Kerala.
How is this different from a standard Kerala package?
It skips Munnar, Thekkady and the Alleppey houseboat entirely and gives you north Kerala instead: a laterite sea fort, a river-fed backwater with barely any boat traffic, working handloom centres, the Beypore yards where uru dhows are still built by hand, and the Wayanad plateau. Very few operators package this stretch.
Is the food walk at Kozhikode included?
The SM Street walk itself is part of Day 4 and the vehicle and driver stay with you, but lunch and dinner are not included anywhere on this package. What you eat on the street is on you, which is the whole point of it.
Can this itinerary be customised?
Customization option is available. Room category and meal plan stay open, nights can be shifted between the coast and Wayanad, and the Kochi close can be extended. Send us your dates and we will re-quote.
